Booking calendar and availability
The booking section end to end: the request form (required fields, your own event types, custom fields), price per unit, terms, files, the optional calendar, and tracking who sent a request.
The booking section shows visitors a request form, and if you want, a live calendar of your free dates too. Here is how it works.
Everything is optional
Every part of the section (price and terms, the availability calendar, files) is marked "Optional". A part that has content shows a green check on its icon, and a small eraser button on its header clears the whole part in one click (with a confirmation first). The availability calendar has its own switch; when it is off, visitors simply propose a date and you confirm. Everything you set on the calendar is kept even while it is off.
Your request form
In "Which details to ask" you choose the fields requesters fill, and you can mark any field as required, including the free message. When the "Event type" field is on you can customize its list of choices (for example: business consulting, workshop) and decide whether requesters pick one or several. Custom fields add any question the form is missing.
Price, terms and files
In price and terms you also choose what the price is per (hour, day, package, or your own wording). Booking terms can be text that opens from the form, an external link, or a file you upload. In files and documents you can upload a PDF or an image (price list, menu, tech rider) and choose whether it shows on the booking form or travels only with a quote.
Who actually sent a request
On the section's stats chip in the editor you see, next to views and clicks, how many real requests were sent, and inside the stats also who sent them, linked to your contacts. Everything filled in the form appears on the contact and in the email you receive.
Two calendar modes
At the top of the calendar you choose how it works:
- I'm usually free. Every date is open and you mark what is taken. Best when you are available most of the time.
- I open specific dates. Nothing is offered until you mark a date available. Best when your availability is the exception.
What each mark means
- Available: the date is offered for booking.
- On hold: the date shows in amber. Visitors can still ask, because an option can fall through.
- Booked: the date is crossed out and visitors cannot pick it.
- Off: the date is simply not offered.
- Clear: removes the mark, and the date goes back to your mode's default.
Hours and showing publicly
Each date can carry hours (from, until). Leave them empty for a whole day, and a range like 23:00 to 02:00 that ends the next day is fine. A booked or on-hold date can also be shown publicly, where it appears on your card as an upcoming event with its label.
Several dates at once
You can select several dates together (click, or "All of this month" / "Weekends") and mark them in one go. "Quick clear" removes marks for a month or from today on, and keeps the dates you show publicly by default. "Block a range" marks a whole stretch, such as a tour abroad.
What is live and what needs publishing
Dates you mark on the calendar go to your card right away, no publishing, because a booking closed by phone has to show immediately. The rules underneath (how far ahead a visitor can book, how much notice you need, your usual days) are part of the design and reach visitors only when you publish the card.
