API keys and the official Zapier app
A personal mv_live_ key from the integrations screen: connects the official Zapier app or your own tool to the public API, revocable in one click.
An API key is like a personal password that gives an external tool, such as Zapier or a tool you built yourself, secure access to your MyVisito contacts.
Minting a key
At the bottom of the integrations screen (My account > Integrations, or the Company area on a team plan) sits the API keys card. Press create, name the key, and the key (starting with mv_live_) is shown for copying. Keep it somewhere safe: you can reveal it again from the screen, and revoke it anytime without touching your other connections.
What to do with it
- The official Zapier app: search for MyVisito on Zapier, paste the key, and get ready-made triggers: new contact and new purchase. The full Zapier guide.
- Your own tool: the public API exposes your workspace's contacts and events over simple REST, with the key as the authorization header.
Security
The key grants access to your workspace data, so treat it like a password: do not share it in chats or put it in public code. If a key leaks, revoke it on the screen and mint a new one.
